    Dearest Douchebag,

I love how you think people don't talk to each other, pick up a phone, or forward emails. I really wanted to thank you for being so blindly stupid to this fact that it makes it that much easier for the rest of the world to hate you.

I am also very enamored with your desperate need to be liked that drives  you keep your ear so close to the grapevine to hear what people are saying about you. It makes it so much easier when I want things to get back to you.

I think most of all I love your commitment to your God complex and how you think no one  ever could live without you, your wisdom, guidance, and overall douchebag-i-ness. It takes a special brand of person to believe they are completely without fault, and i must applaud you for that.

I must say, when it comes to being a doucebag, nobody does it better.

    Yours Truly,
    Donna

Reparative Therapist, Zucker, to Speak on GID in Adolescents in London
On October 1st, London's Royal Society of Medicine is organising and hosting a one day conference entitled, "Gender Identity Disorder in Adolescents" at its Wimpole Street premises. The day will see many people speak on the topic, mostly from the UK and within the EU, but the opening talk of the first session, "Definition and spectrum of Gender Identity Disorder" is being given by Ken Zucker of the University of Toronto.

For those unfamiliar with him, he is perhaps best known in our community for advocating the use of reparative therapy on gender variant children. He has also been appointed by the American Psychiatric Association to head the task force responsible for updating the section on GID in the DSM-V, an appointment which has caused much controversy in the trans community.

The conference in London features many speakers who are likely to advocate a more sympathetic approach to gender variant children than psychologically abusing them with reparative therapy, but the appointment of Zucker to open the conference suggests that he and his methods are still taken somewhat seriously by those to whom the psychological care of gender variant children is entrusted.

    Pennsic
I have been to every Pennsic since 13. Now that is not as long as some, but it is 24 in a row. I have never had a bad time. Some have been better than others. Pennsic is special, I can not imagine not going. It would not feel right to me. I have many great memories of Pennsic. It has not mattered if we lost the war. I still have great tales of fun and glory. Winning is fun to. But not winning the war. That is OK, but I can not even tell you which wars that we have won save two. Eislan's and Kenna's wars. And I only remember we won those for other reasons. I remember winning battles. The Bridge at 13. The Champions Tourney at 23. The Field Battle at 25. The Woods Battle at 34. The Maze Battle whenever that was. All of those hold personal memories. Winning is exciting at the time, but that fades. It is the glories of the battles that stay with me. Hard fought battles with amazing personal moments.

The song Three to One really tells the story of how I feel about winning at Pennsic better than I could ever could. With permission from [info]loreleiskye Three to One )

More on Mercenaries in the SCA
Sir Theodric EikBrandr, General of the MIdrealm Army and trusted friend, took the time to reply to my rant and explain more of what happended. If you took the time to read my rant, I implore you to read his reply.

All I have to add is that while I want to win every battle at every Pennsic, and I have been to all of them since 13 that is 24 in a row, I still think we should fight for the joy of combat and that all SCA wars should have nearly even sides.

    Peanuts
I had little doubt about this one:

Your result for The Peanuts Character Test...

    Linus

With the outside world being such a big and scary place, everyone needs a source of comfort and security. For Linus this is his blanket - even though Lucy and his grandmother try and break him of the habit. He has an unparalleled knowledge of the Bible and has managed Charlie Brown's baseball team on occasion. When Halloween comes around, make sure your pumpkin patch is sincere.

    Woke up.

I was going to just post this private for me only, but I figured I'd let everyone read my sci-fi movie dream insanity.
And yes, it was really aliens attacking via biological weapons that made people turn to their side, in the beginning of the dream I was watching it on the news as the disease ravaged city centers,(possibly several weeks/months passed here) and then it came to my area and I was seemingly immune, I met up with some kids who were also seemingly immune, we were caught by red cross vans with nurses in skirts and hats (not exactly common uniform anymore) that were just white with a red cross.

They tried to drug and indoctrinate the people who had been immune, keeping us locked in hospital rooms until it was our time, the nurses act very calming and motherly, but the kids are still scared of them, me and the kids (three kids around 12-15) share a room with a buff african-american woman about my age, she tells us the is an underground movement and if we can get out of here we might make it to a fortress in the forest before they leave.

I decide to break out, luckily I still have all of my stuff that I had taken from my house, we steal whatever we can and stuff it in our bags and wait for the head nurse to come, she's nicer than the other nurses and obviously breaks the rules (showing some sort of immunity?) she gives us a forbidden snack (cheese!) and we ask her to open the window for some fresh air, I smash her face into the frame after she uses her key to open the windows (windows have key locks?), we make our escape into the forest.

In the forest we first find that some people have mutated, we follow a lake for a while until we come to a river and we need to cross, then we notice these fish/crab monster people, working tirelessly like bees out in the lake, we prepare to swim across the river but find there are guards underwater, this is my first full view of the fish/crab people, sort of like some sort of crab/fish centaur being, very fearsome, we get unexpected help from one of the creatures, the lady with me recognizes it as her brother somehow, sibling love somehow trumps mind control and he helps us cross the river, he returns to his post after helping us cross.

The edge of the lake becomes a cliff here, we follow along the top of it, supposedly the fortress is nearby. We find the fortress it's some sort of concrete bomb shelter built into the cliff on the edge of the lake, it's obviously not been used in quite a while and not been cared for, inside we find members of the resistance, they're giving out warm food and blankets and supplies, also board games, they seem to all be from the 60s or 70s though, I sit with my companions to eat.

We are told to await a message from the leader of the resistance, he's sitting on a raised platform seemingly discussing strategy with a few others. we all eat and begin to play a game, I repack my pack with my new supplies. I hear a bang at the doors behind me, they aren't very sturdy and the bottom half of the door gives way and I catch a glimpse of humans, obviously not members of the resistance, we're going to have to fight.

The doors hold while I grab gear for fighting, I take a kevlar vest and a put a pistol in a leg holster I seem to have on my pants. I grab an mp5 and head to the doors to fight, as the doors are opened and the fighting begins, I wake up.

That was it, maybe I'll try rewriting it later when I'm not half asleep and have some decent grammar, it seems like a fun story.

    Fighter Practice
Went to Illiton fighter practice tonight with two other Lochmorrow fighters. We got a late start as someone else was late for a change. But it was a great practice. [info]chentzu brought my armor and other stuff that he had got for me from Jubilee. We did do some fighting, but not that much considering how long it had been. [info]alzbeta_m and [info]birchduck and I did spear practice with the two of them working against me. This was a very fun way to practice and yet almost like a drill for all of us. [info]starwolf_129 and I did two handed swords. [info]druminmychest and I had several good passes and I tried to impart some wisdom on him, but he knows all of this stuff now. He just has to put the pieces together. Michael of Ivy continues to be a real danger. I only fought armored due to our being late. But about 20 of us invaded Steak and Shake after we were done with practice.

    A very fun night.

    Well. This sucks. (warning, triggers)
    Where to start?

It's been a long time. I was fired from my job a year ago, due to having lyme's disease. How that's fair, I don't know. Sank into pretty major depression then, as I was just starting to show signs of transitioning (hmmmmm.), my car broke down, so I wasn't able to get a job again right away. Actually had to scrap that car and find a new one. Time went on, I was really messed up, doing some bad self-injury, found out I'm probably Borderline Personality Disorder, got into therapy. Then I kinda dropped off the face of Livejournal.

    More behind LJ cut.

    Yay life.

Anyone have any ideas? Suggestions? :/

    Virture

Your result for The Best Thing About You Test...

    Compassion

Compassion is the most human of the virtues. And you? Your heart has limits far beyond normal levels empathy, and your capacity for feeling the world's pain is boundless. You poor, beautiful, wonderful thing. All 7 virtues are a part of you, but your compassion runs deepest.

It is likely you're an altruist. And it's likely (but not necessarily true, think of Bono) that your humility score is high too.

Compassionate famous people: Brad Pitt, Mother Theresa, The A-Team.

Your raw relative scores follow. 0% is low, and 100% is perfect, nearly impossible. Note that I pitted the virtues against each other, so in some way these are relative scores. It's impossible to score high on all of them, and a low score on one is just relatively low compared to the other virtues.

    YOUR VIRTUES

    70% Compassion

    56% Intelligence

    63% Humility

    33% Honesty

    13% Discipline

    57% Courage

    New Cat
While attending Macomb's Heritage Days, we discovered someone had rescued a cat from a ditch a few weeks back shortly after WIU graduation. He had got cleaned it up, neutered her, declawed her and got all her shots. But decided that he really was not home enough to keep her. But he refused to take her to the shelter.

So we now have a new cat. Suschi was her name and we think we will keep that. Long haired and calicoish in appearance. But right now she is kind of scared in the new house with a new cat and a dog. They are mostly all leaving each other alone right now. I imagine it will take a while for them to all come together.

But we have a new cat and it is a rescue.

Having a girlfriend does NOT mean I'm not looking. BH is supportive of me pursuing other relationships. That said, don't be afraid to get involved with me like that. I am looking, and she will approve of any kind of relationship with with someone trustworthy.

    another year
today was my birthday. it was about average as far as birthdays go. it had some nice moments, but mostly felt like an ordinary day with school and homework, and not enough hours in the day to nap like i wanted to. I did get to spend the day with a great friend which is always good. Things are very busy around here, esecially as we inch closer to the opening weekend of the play I'm working on this summer. there are so many loose ends that its a little overwhelming and I'm trying to keep things progressing. On an upside today did not involve melting my brain like last birthday, and my dad gave me the perfect gift -cash.

    - Have your friends cut & paste this into their journal to see what unique things they've done in their life.

    What I've Done:

    1. Held my mothers hand as she died when I was 19.
    1a. Got married at 17

    2. Was admitted overnight to a hospital 28 times before the age of 6.
